At the airport

from lingerie
to onion rings.
As people run past
trying to catch their plane
others wait
drinking coffee chatting
to kill some time
until people arrive
some watch
trying to catch someone’s eye
getting a smile
conversations start

a happy moment
that brightens
the day.

I am unable
to do some things
that I could do before.
Spreading
slowly
overwhelming
shutting me down.
I cannot face the day
with a frown.
I must fight on
to the end.

will not be able
to move at all.

to get people
to understand me.
