The Friendly Moth
Dancing moth
Tickles while I read
this display
Saying hey
Let's play
Okay
Fluttering around
Laughing out loud
As the moth tickles my face
Flying
Finding another place
to land
on the back of my hand
Sees a brighter light
Flies to my nose
Saying I gotta go
Circles me

Most are free
All they take is a little time.

That you are worthless.
You got a value
You don’t see
Give yourself a chance
Hear these words
You are a wonder
Waiting to be discovered
Recover from the bad stuff
Move on
Soon you’ll be singing a happy song
You belong
You are loved
You are worth it
Move on.

Poem Mar 18th 2014

This is a poem which I originally wrote in 1999 and I found it again today. I have decided to publish it today. It also appears on the Lovin the Asylum Blog

http://lovintheasylum.wordpress.com

Doors
Is it really easy

when one is feeling queasy?
Choices are not so simple.
One spirit,but many paths
each equally right;
laden with uncertainity,
and curiousity.
The doors remain open
yet one keeps on hoping
for some sign
to signify the truth.
Barring help from above
One must seek it alone
then all victories,
and defeats, gains and losses
are your own.
Trying and troubling as a Zen Koan.
You are the riddle,
and the resolution.

Make a plan

smile mindlessly
at the rain
forget the game
pain
is not important
to survive
make it alive.

Travelling

Hi Everyone
Over the next few days I will be travelling.  I am unsure, if where I will be, will have Internet access.
If not them my poems will return sometime late on Sunday Mar 10th. However, if there is access, the poems will come every day.

Best Wishes and Warmest Regards
Blair

Poem Mar 5th 2014

The Tale of the Unknown Unicorn
The unknown unicorn
does more than fly
through the sky
spreading wishes
warmth while flying by
sometimes
delivers pizzas
during spare time
keeping hope alive
until the food arrives.

that they are in the wrong place.

Poem Feb 25th 2014

Choices: A Tribute
Speechless landscape
flooded my eyes
I see why
you did not want to leave
Battling
ocean land weather
to survive
eking out enough
to stay alive
deciding to go
build a better life
A hard choice
you found your way
I only know you
through family stories
We never met
but you will never be forgotten.

The Cave
This was a place
we explored
lured by tales of

Poem Feb 20th 2014

Look Again
We have patterns
by following them
we have lost touch
with what is
going on around us
this is our blindness
we must open our eyes again
rediscover our surroundings.

Poem Feb 19th 2014

Don't wait until midnight
Don't wait until midnight
It may be too late
if you love her
tell her straight
to her face
Don't dilly-dally
or delay
you might not get
the answer you want
Yes, it is painful
If you do not tell her
she won't know
Speak
Don't stay silent
you'll have only regret
Better to know
than leaving this uncorked love
battering your soul.
Set yourself free
or watch someone else
have a chance to be happy instead
I've lived through that Fred
Being alive yet quite dead
Go to her
speak from your heart
Do it!

Poem Feb 18th 2014

The Cultural Fox
Many guises
forms
I take
am around
day and night
you do not see
unless you have the sight
or I want you to see me
I regale tales
in many lands
have lent the occasional hand
to help or hurt
seduce or flirt
am much more
than what appears
on the page
I am culture too
Don’t forget me
for I am a part of you!

Poem Feb 17th 2014

Airport
At the airport
you can buy
many things
from lingerie
to onion rings.
As people run past
trying to catch their plane
others wait
drinking coffee chatting
to kill some time
until people arrive
some watch
trying to catch someone’s eye
getting a smile
conversations start
numbers exchanged
a happy moment
that brightens
the day.

Poem Feb 16th 2014

The Battle Against ALS*
Every day
I am unable
to do some things
that I could do before.
Spreading
slowly
overwhelming
shutting me down.
I cannot face the day
with a frown.
I must fight on
to the end.
Eventually
will not be able
to move at all.
Now, locked in my body
the mind is free.
I will do all I can
to get people
to understand me.
© BJG (Blair Gaulton) Feb 2014
* This poem is dedicated to my uncle Harold who passed away
fighting ALS.

Poem Feb 14th 2014

Any Day Can Be Valentine's Day!
Love existed
before Valentine's day
many take the opportunity
buy a card or some presents
to say I love you
in their own special way
Do not limit it to this day!
Do it when it is unexpected ;)

Poem Feb 3rd 2014

This poem was inspired by a writing exercise done today.

Dice
For once I want to be still
not an object
that makes others feel thrilled
or give them a chill
when the unexpected
turns up
I am not a game
nor fate's toy
Enough
These speckled scratches
Do not define me!
