A Wish of A living Iceberg by Blair Gaulton

I wrote this originally in Nov 2015. Just reread it again and it floored me!

Poem Nov 30th 2015

May Our Words
May our words;
be like an inextinguishable candle;
sharing warmth love and light.
Now and always.

Poem Nov 29th 2015

Commentary
If attention was an ounce
of prevention;
we’d still have too much
balderdash; masking
as political parties,
future trends and entertainment .

Poem Nov 28th 2015

Stress Sandwiched Mind
Stress sandwiched mind;
tries to lighten the extraneous,
and the unimportant;
instead of piling it on.

Poem Nov 27th 2015

Together
Leaning into one another;
as they wait.
Slightly dozing in their place.
They hear a noise;
jolted awake.
Arm in arm getting on the train;
finding a seat;
falling asleep;
together again.

Poem Nov 26th 2015

Drifting
Drifting out of tiredness’ net;
I hear the radio;
cackling news.

Poem Nov 25th 2015

In Memory of A Departed Friend
Mirror’s tears;
make me weep.
Knowing you and your reflection;
have suddenly passed on.
Depriving us of your funny jokes,
and funky songs
You are loved and missed.
We’ll do our best;
that in our thoughts ‘n’ memories;
sketches ‘n’ songs;
you’ll live on.

Mack’s Snack
Mack musing;
over marinated meatballs;
filled with mascarponed marmalde

Poem Nov 23rd 2015

Moonlight’s Fuel
Moonlight fuels smiles;
‘n’ glowing eyes.
Laughing arm in arm;
strolling off into the night

Snow Popcorned Windows
Snow popcorned windows;
shriven with scornful frost.

Poem Nov 20th 2015

En Route to the Theatre
Lack of sleep.
Feelin’ like an iceberg;
floating in the ocean;
enjoying the peaceful motion.
Need some coffee to
perk up,
and regrettably dispel this notion.
Need energy for the stage;
an audience to entertain;
looking forward to our play!

Poem Nov 19th 2015

Painfully Powerless
Seeing and feeling your sadness;
makes me wish and want;
to take it away.
Being powerless hurts profoundly.

Gear Shift
Wind shifts gears;
as things start;
flying around everywhere.

Poem Nov 17th 2015

Terrorists
You who have created many pieces;
by your actions;
think the remaining ones
will cut each other up;
creating a bigger mess than before.
A new picture is emerging;
all the pieces are converging;
forming anew in unexpected ways.
We are entering a phase;
these are the days;
our world will never be the same.
Your diverse acts of death
‘n’ destruction in many names,
and places;
violates all beliefs;
hurts and shames this world.
Humanity has seen it before.
Peace will come,
but not in the way;
you want or expect.

Poem Nov 16th 2015

The Love of Music
Eyes, faces, bodies, minds,
souls aflame;
in the love of music.
Humming, singing and dancing;
each one unique;
yet united at this moment.

Poem Nov 14th 2015

We Must Not Be Silent
We must not remain silent.
Those who kill;
are not doing God’s will,
but their own.
They need to be caught;
fairly tried, punished and jailed.
We all must stand up;
raise our voices,
and show the world.
They ‘ve failed.

Poem Nov 15th 2015

Living Candles
We are all living candles.

Poem Nov 13th 2015

Blood Sugar Butterfly’s Hope
Blood sugar bananas;
as I flap through the leaves.
Will the butterfly make it back;
to the home field?
Hopefully.

Poem Nov 12th 2015

A Wish
Words pull in many ways,
and directions.
Change lives,
and alter perceptions;
as well as our conceptions.
May our words;
open our own,
and others’ eyes, hearts and minds.
